SOLNORD is a knitwear maker known to those in the know, using Hokkaido-produced wool and crafted by the people of Hokkaido.

While it's slightly thicker than a high-gauge knit, the amount of wool used is significantly different, resulting in superior warmth compared to other knits of similar thickness.

The brand originates everything from the materials (yarn) to the product planning (patterns), offering a new perspective and style for knitwear using Hokkaido wool and knitted by Hokkaido residents.
Developed based on 1970s-80s French Basque shirts. The Daily Basque has been redesigned from the original, which had a wide neckline and a tendency to slip off the shoulders, resulting in a more stable fit. The hem is based on the original design but finished with a lock stitch, intentionally using a sewing specification similar to a cut-and-sew garment, prioritizing practicality and ease of wear.

The material is made from the finest count of wool yarn, No. 10, using two strands twisted together. This gives it a substantial weight not typically found in mid-gauge knits. It has a good separation from the skin and durability due to the strong twist, while also being supple and having a nice drape. The color is Chanezu (brown-gray), inspired by a color popular in the Edo period, a combination of ecru and black. It's a masterpiece that conveys a sense of craftsmanship.
